Happy Monday! Man, has the past two weeks been a whirlwind. Chase and I are in the process of buying our first home! EEEKK! We are making HUGE decisions, and this is something that is exciting, but very scary. 2019 has started out with a bang. We are under contract on our home, Chase is enrolled in his second semester of dental school, and I will be performing in An American in Paris at Hale Centre Theatre in less than a month! With SO much going on, I often ask myself… HOW CAN I DE-STRESS AND UNWIND? There are only so many hours in a day, and if I don’t take a step back, my days fly by in a heartbeat. I have found that there are 4 KEY THINGS that help me de-stress and calm down when life takes over…
- Yoga/Meditation: I have recently fallen in love with hot yoga. I LOVE how calm and relaxed I feel during and after class.
- Prayer/Gratitude Journal: I have always turned to prayer no matter what is going on in life, but I have also found that a gratitude journal is life changing. I try to write down 3 things each day that I am grateful for. Some days my entries are simple, but on other days my entries are very special. This is something I love to look back at as time passes.
- A warm shower/bath: We all know just how amazing a warm bubble bath is. I have found that this is my favorite way to unwind at night before going to bed. I love to add my favorite playlist, which often includes music by Norah Jones, Michael Bublé, and Ella Fitzgerald.
- Find your outlet: We all have things that we enjoy. It is not a secret that I love shopping. Another thing I love to do is browse items online. Life can get overwhelming. I am learning very early on this year that I have to take time for myself in order to be my best self. By taking time to de-stress and unwind I can be the person I want to be.
